CAMITY / PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Last updated and effective date: November 6, 2026

Your photos are personal. This policy explains what happens to them when you use Camity, and what other information we process.

Camity is operated by Denis Kazakov ("Camity", "we", "us"), the controller responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: contact@camity.app. This policy covers the Camity mobile app and camity.app.

No Camity account or email registration is required to use the app. The app uses installation-based identifiers to operate the service. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not a guarantee that all service information is anonymous. We receive your email address if you contact support.

1. Photos and AI processing

You choose which photo to use through your device's photo picker. Camity does not upload your entire photo library. Before the first AI upload, the app asks for your consent. When you request an edit, the app prepares a resized copy of your selected photo and removes embedded metadata, such as GPS and camera information, from that upload.

The selected photo, your selected preset, and instructions needed to create the result are sent to our backend and to an AI service provider. We currently use Microsoft Azure-hosted image services (including OpenAI and Microsoft models) and Google Gemini. Provider selection may vary according to availability. A photo may contain identifiable faces or other personal information, so only upload photos you are entitled to use.

We use this information to produce the edit you requested, not to identify you, create a biometric identity profile, or train our own AI models. Processing, safety checks, and any retention by the AI providers are subject to the applicable service terms and data policies. We do not promise that a provider immediately deletes every copy or never retains content. You can read more at Microsoft's data privacy documentation and Google's Gemini API terms.

Photos containing faces

Selected photos may contain faces, and AI models may analyze their visual features to render your requested image. Camity does not use those photos for facial recognition, identity matching, or biometric authentication, and does not maintain a database of face templates or extracted face geometry. This does not mean an AI model performs no analysis of facial features; its image processing is used to create the edit, not to establish a person's identity.

Face-containing photos follow the same transmission and retention rules as other selected photos: they go to our backend and the selected AI provider for processing, responses may be temporarily cached, and your saved gallery stays on your device. We do not include them in analytics or crash reports or use them for advertising. We do not sell or license your photos to others for their independent commercial use. You control which images to submit and can stop further uploads.

2. Information we process

3. Storage and retention

Your in-app gallery, including saved results and their originals, is stored locally on your device, not in a Camity cloud photo library. Files you export to Photos or share with another app are controlled by that device or service and are not removed by deleting Camity.

Depending on your device and backup settings, local app data or exported photos may also be included in backups or photo synchronization managed by Apple, Google, or another service you choose. Deleting an item in Camity does not necessarily delete those separate copies. Manage backups, exported files, and shared copies through the relevant device or service.

Our backend processes uploaded photos to fulfill your request and temporarily caches responses to support safe retries. Cached responses automatically expire; the cache is not a permanent gallery. AI providers may have separate retention periods for processing, security, abuse monitoring, or legal obligations.

Credit/service records, diagnostics, and support messages may remain for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve issues, prevent abuse, or meet legal requirements. To request deletion of information we control, email us. We may need enough information to locate the record and verify the request without asking you to send sensitive photos.

Where we hold records required for tax, accounting, purchase disputes, or other legal obligations, we may need to retain those records after a deletion request or after you stop using Camity. This does not justify retaining a permanent photo gallery on our servers. Provider-held records and store transaction histories may have their own retention requirements.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use Microsoft Azure for hosting and service data, Microsoft and Google for AI processing, Sentry for error monitoring, PostHog for limited product analytics, and Superwall for paywalls and subscription-related functionality. Apple and Google operate their respective stores. Our app is configured not to include photos, editing instructions, file paths, or directly identifying personal details in Sentry or PostHog events.

Our PostHog integration sends selected product events rather than session recordings or automatic screen/click recordings. Its installation identifier helps relate events from the same installation; this is not an account profile and is not used by us for cross-app advertising. Diagnostics help investigate technical failures, while product events help us understand use of features and improve the app. You can contact us to object to this processing where applicable law gives you that right.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or as part of a lawful business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

5. Why we process information

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you to provide requested edits and paid features, your consent for selected-photo uploads and permissions where required, legitimate interests in service security, reliability, and understanding limited product usage to improve the app, and compliance with legal obligations. Where consent rather than legitimate interests is required for a particular activity, that activity must have the necessary consent. You can withdraw consent by stopping further uploads or contacting us; this does not undo processing already lawfully completed.

6. Your choices and rights

You can decline photo uploads, control photo permissions in device settings, remove creations from the in-app gallery, and uninstall the app to remove its local data. Manage subscriptions separately through Apple or Google; uninstalling does not cancel a subscription.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Contact contact@camity.app to exercise these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Because there is no Camity account, an email address alone may not identify your installation or service records. We may ask for an app-specific identifier, a store order reference where relevant, or other proportionate information to verify a request and find the records. Do not send passwords, payment card details, or sensitive photos. Reinstalling the app can change the installation identifier and make older records harder to associate with your request.

Where local privacy law allows it, you may use an authorized agent to make a request or appeal our response. We may need to verify both your identity and the agent's authority. We will not penalize you for exercising protected privacy rights, although deleting information necessary for an edit or paid feature can affect our ability to provide that feature. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no such sale or advertising sharing to opt out of.

7. International processing and security

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, international transfers rely on appropriate legal safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or an applicable adequacy decision. We use HTTPS for service communication and reasonable access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Camity is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Do not upload a child's photo without the necessary authority and consent; provider safety rules may block such edits.

Where a young person cannot legally give the required data-processing consent independently, authorization from a parent or legal guardian is needed. The relevant age and requirements vary by country. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child without the necessary authorization, we will take appropriate steps to delete information we control, subject to applicable legal obligations.

9. This website

This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account sign-in, or non-essential cookies. Fonts and images are served with the website. Azure may process technical request information to host and secure it. Clicking an external link or sending email is subject to the destination service's own policies.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version; material changes will be communicated where required. Questions or privacy requests: contact@camity.app.
